A day or so ago, Cherry Mobile’s fan page have started teasing a new smartphone – describing the new device with words like “I Got That Power”; a picture of a battery with an OTG cable and a winking face; and finally a taunting the 4,000mAh capacity of the new phone. That phone, it turns out, is most likely the Cherry Mobile Fuze. While the main fan page have not given us the official specs or any picture of the phone just yet, (unless you count the subtle silhouette from the I Got That Power image) well known dealer Cherry Angel have leaked us some specs. It’s going to be a PHP 5,499 phone with a Quad-Core MT6582 processor, 5.0” screen, and 8MP camera. Interesting, considering the recently released Flare HD is priced exactly the same. Check out the specs and a quick comparison between the two below!

Cherry Mobile Fuze – PHP 5,499

  • 1.3Ghz Quad-Core MediaTek 6582 Processor
    • Mali 400 GPU
  • 5.0” 854×480 Display (196ppi)
  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
  • 8MP Camera, 1.3MP Front
  • 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM, MicroSD
  • 4,000mAh Battery
  • Dual SIM With 3G
  • USB OTG Capable

Cherry Mobile Flare HD – PHP 5,499

  • 1.2Ghz Quad-Core MT6589 Processor
    • PowerVR SGX 544 GPU
  • 4.3” 1280×720 IPS Display (342ppi)
  • Android 4.2 Jelly Bean
  • 12MP Camera + Flash, 5MP Front
  • 1GB RAM, 4GB ROM, MicroSD
  • 1,800mAh Battery
  • Dual Regular SIM With 3G
  • Comes with free Jelly Case

As far as comparing the two phones are concerned, the main differences would be the GPU, display, camera, and of course battery size. The Fuze has a larger display but much lower resolution and PPI, better processor for games, and a much larger battery. (Would be fun to give this phone a battery rundown test like we did last time.) The Flare HD would be more suited for more rounded use as the HD display makes for a great user experience, and the 12MP camera allows for great pictures.

Either way, for consumers looking for USB OTG support and a large battery, the Fuze seems like a good pick. We don’t know when it’ll be available, but we’ll be on the lookout. Hopefully we can review one as well – we’re very curious as to how much better the battery life is on this guy.

Update: Here’s a few pictures of the phone from Cherry Angel:
