Ever since smartphones took over our pockets, people have always complained about one thing: battery life. And while some brands have attempted to come up with devices packed with large batteries, they’ve never made them look good or it would always have some sort of compromise. Enter the Asus Zenfone Max. An evolution of their Zenfone 2 Laser variant but with a supersized battery, contemporary (and non bulky) design, running on a properly designed UI, and packing decent cameras to boot. Priced at PHP 8,495, the Max is pretty much the best-looking large battery smartphone around. Check out our full video review above and the specs below for more details!

Pros:

  • Well built, nice new design
  • Smooth & customizable UI
  • Above average camera + Laser AF
  • Solid 2-3 day battery life

Cons:

  •  Not best for gaming
  • Lots of Asus bloatware
  • Takes a long time to charge

HighlyRecommended

Overall the Asus Zenfone Max doesn’t particularly specialize in one feature, but is above average in most aspects like UI, camera, & gaming. Where it excels is with it’s nice newly revamped design and excellent battery life. There will be phones with newer bells & whistles like Octa-Core performance, fingerprint scanners and the like, but the Zenfone Max still holds its own and that’s why we’re giving it our Highly Recommended award.
