Nothing wrong with plastic to us mind you, but metal does feel more premium. In a teardown done by JerryRigEverything on YouTube (embedded above), he’s revealed that the back plate of the G5 has a thick plastic layer on top of aluminum. That sort of contradicts LG’s all metal claim, but technically it is still covered in metal but just not all of it? LG’s response to this is that there’s a small insulative antenna integrated into the metal without making it look like there’s a non-metal part on the back plate. So which is it? We don’t know. But we suppose more investigation and LG debunking is needed for this.
The LG G5 is slated to be launched in the Philippines this 28th of April, so watch out for our coverage then.
Note: Not an April Fools joke article.
