Consumers who are currently looking for that new phablet upgrade might want to look in Globe’s direction as they’ve recently cut down the monthly outlay prices for their Samsung Galaxy Note II unlimited data plan bundles. The two, called the Unli Surf Plan 999 and 1799, used to have monthly cashouts of PHP 800 and PHP 250 on top to amortize the cost of the phone. Globe is bringing these prices down to PHP 700 and PHP 200 respectively, resulting in a lower net cost per month of PHP 1,699 and PHP 1,999. Additionally, one can also get the Android powerhouse for free on a shorter 24-month lock period compared to the competition’s 30-months.
The Samsung Galaxy Note II is of course the successor to the popular industry-defining phablet standard, the original Galaxy Note. It’s main upgrades include a new 1.6Ghz Quad-Core processor (Note has a 1.4Ghz Dual-Core) and a slightly larger 5.5" screen. The screen resolution has been slightly lowered to 1280×720 (instead of the predecessor’s 1280×800), but that’s probably because the screen size and ratio has changed to the wider 16:9 format. Anyway, since this is a Samsung Note, it comes with a stylus "S Pen" and functionalities surrounding that. Finally, more standard features include an 8MP camera with LED flash, 1080p video recording, 1.9MP front camera, NFC, MicroSD slot, and the usual Android connectivity options running a customized TouchWiz UI over 4.1 Jelly Bean.
Globe’s Plan 1699 comes with unlimited data plus one call & text freebie; while Plan 1999 comes with unlimited data, PHP 800 consumable, and 3 call & text freebies. Both are available now as well as Plan 2499 – all of which feature the 24-month lock periods. You can inquire about the Note II or these plans at Globe Centers nationwide, through their toll-free number (02) 730-1010, or their website at www.globe.com.ph/samsungnote2.
