For Chef Sharwin Tee, it all begins with one delicious question. That’s how all episodes of Curiosity Got The Chef begins – and tries to answer within the confines of this new cooking program inspired by our discriminating Filipino tastebuds. Chef Sharwin will walk us through his unique and oftentimes completely new made-for-the-show dishes in order to satisfy our palates, as well as our curiosity every week. The program will air on the Lifestyle Network for most days, but will premiere a new episode each Wednesday night at 9:30PM.

We attended the launch event for the new TV program to check out Chef Sharwin’s take on Filipino cuisine. Aside from preparing some good looking hamburgers for us, Chef Sharwin gave us some thoughts on what he thinks is the trademark of Filipino food – a certain level of sourness. He says that the way we cook our food has a certain signature sour taste that could not be found elsewhere. Indeed, there are some international cuisines that are deliberately sweet, salty, or spicy, but none have that particular sour taste that we love. In addition, he believes that Filipino food deserves to shine more in the international market and should be appreciated by its foreign peers – and we agree wholeheartedly.
