The vivo X series has been a vital part of the phonemaker’s portfolio delivering the best camera innovations by partnering even with Zeiss optics. The momentum continues as the sequel of the X80 series is probably in sight thanks to numerous rumors on Weibo.

Weibo user experiencemore and Ice Universe on Twitter shared the pinnacle device on the lineup, the X90 Pro+. They shared some key specifications that appear on-paper exciting. First and foremost, the unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor. The chip will be accompanied by LPDDR5X RAM and Samsung’s UFS 4.0 storage solution. The display is a Samsung E6 panel, likely to have curves, high refresh rate support with 1440Hz dimming and 2K resolution.

The camera system will have a new telephoto shooter, portrait mode algorithms with cooperation with Zeiss optics. It will be spruced up by  the new ISP developed in-house by vivo themselves, the V2. The system will have a 1″ main camera sensor. Vivo also packed it with likely to be Qualcomm’s 3D Sonic Max wide area ultrasonic fingerprint scanners which we have seen before with the likes of iQOO. The device will have a combo of 80W and 50W wired and wireless charging and have IP68 water and dust resistance.

Its launch date is scheduled to be this November 22 in China. Not only the vivo X90 Pro+ will be the first devices with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 platform, but also one of the first devices intended for next year to be an “ultra” flagship device.
