OnePlus devices has been tied with Qualcomm Snapdragon processors since inception. However, just last year, rumors were circling around the tech community about a OnePlus smartphone with a MediaTek Dimensity chip.
That, however, never came into fruition with the OnePlus Nord came out months after with a Snapdragon 765G mobile platform. Though a tipster claims that OnePlus maybe considering again a device with the Taiwanese tech giant’s silicon.
According to Digital Chat Station, OnePlus has been testing a prototype device with an MT6893 chip. In simpler terms, the MT6893 is the model number for the MediaTek Dimensity 1200.
Tipsters speculate that if OnePlus actually releases this device, it will be placed alongside the Nord series. Recently MaxJmb of Twitter, a reliable source of upcoming Samsung and OnePlus devices, dropped a photo of an upcoming OnePlus Nord device titled “Nord CE”.
Most of tech tipsters on Twitter also saw a surge of certifications of different OnePlus devices. One of them being the device described by Digital Chat Station is on the cards.
