Higher end MediaTek chips, now rumored to compete with Qualcomm.

Aside from the Dimensity 700, MediaTek has already teased an upcoming high end chip during their tech summit summit.

According to rumors, MediaTek might be preparing multiple platforms. Digital Chat Station from Weibo stated multiple part numbers of assumable the same chip. They are named as “MT6891”, “MT6893” and “MT6895”. Also he added that the highest frequency of the three will be clocked at 3.0GHz. He also noted that the highest score, assuming that he is referring to AnTuTu, is estimated to be over 630,000.

This is nearing Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 865 performance which hovers around the mid 600,000 range. If correct, the Taiwanese chip giant might be preparing powerful fit for next year’s devices. Safe to assume that the following chips will succeed the current and already powerful MediaTek Dimensity series, namely the Dimensity 820 and the 1000+.

Currently, it is unknown when they will reveal the chips nor the mass production of devices equipped with the said platforms as well.
