MediaTek announces new Dimensity 700 for budget 5G devices next year.

The MediaTek Dimensity 800 and 720 were already found on some budget devices which already make them 5G capable. But the Taiwanese chip maker is not done yet in delivering more capabilities at constraint costs. Meet the Dimensity 700, their newest offering in the Dimensity lineup, even cheaper than the MediaTek Dimensity 720.

The Dimensity 700 features for up to 2.2GHz clockspeeds. This is composed of an ARM Cortex-A76 architecture which would work on pairs and three pairs of ARM Cortex-A55 cores for efficiency. It is also partnered with a Mali G57 GPU with 2 shader cores.

A rumor circulates on Weibo, particularly from Digital Chat Station, says that we will see a device with this chip at 599CNY or about PHP 5000, directly converted, without taxes yet. If true, this will be a very compelling offering from MediaTek and would bring more devices in the 5G realm.

With the likes of realme V3 and Q2i costing at 999CNY with a much more powerful chip, it isn’t far fetched if the rumor turns out to be correct.
