Since earlier this year, Apple has announced that they are moving away from the X86 microarchitecture chips in favor for ARM. The silicon has been dubbed as “Apple Silicon” in which they will push the Macs and iPads away from Intel and built their own chips using ARM.

Now, a Taiwanese media has revealed the names of the chips. These are the “A14X” and “A14T”. Both chips have their codenames/internal names as “Tonga” and “Mt. Jade” respectively. The X variant will be equipped on the Macbooks and iPad Pros while the A14T will be destined on the iMacs. Both of the silicon are expected to come with Apple’s custom designed GPU.

The hardware inside will be based on TSMC’s 5nm process alike to the standard A14 found on the iPhones.
Apple Silicon is expected to be launched this November 10, confirmed as Apple sent invites to media.
