Xiaomi took off the cover for the Redmi K30 Ultra on their 10th anniversary in China. One notable change is that the firm used a chip from the Taiwanese semiconductor company, MediaTek, instead of opting a Qualcomm platform. That is, to achieve its goal bringing honest prices to the consumers and Mi Fans alike. Well it seems that they’re striving harder for the forseeable future with this snippet of information.

An insider from Weibo stated that the manufacturer is honing a 6nm chip from MediaTek. Aside from that, he added that the processor will have ARM’s latest Cortex-A78 design which was introduced earlier this year.

Why MediaTek?

MediaTek had a bad rep when it comes to their earlier lineups with budget processors plaguing with different problems such as overheating, GPS issues, et al. Though, with their newer Dimensity series of chips, the firm has overachieved themselves by impressing different reviewers and consumers. The Dimensity 820 and 800 were quick hits from Redmi, Honor , realme with shipments skyrocketing. For the reason of that MediaTek chips are way cheaper than their Qualcomm counterparts reaching very attractive price points.

Going back to Xiaomi, it is unknown when and where the launch of the alleged phone is.
