Recently, Meizu has already launched the Meizu 17 series which are composed of the standard Meizu 17 and a Pro version. As expected, this directly succeed the Meizu 16 series released last year. The 17 series offer some key upgrades such as a camera revamp, a Snapdragon 865 mobile platform and higher refresh rate displays accustomed to 2020 standards. 

Both of the devices are equipped with 1080p AMOLED panels which refreshes at 90Hz and has a touch polling rate of 180Hz. The displays are described to reach 1,100 nits of brightness and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. The Snapdragon 865 is under the hood of both devices. Both versions are equipped with up to 256GB storage with UFS 3.1 spec. A 20MP selfie shooter is also found on both. Similarities of both devices end here.

Differences include the camera system and its memory configuration. The memory equipped on the standard version is a LPDDR4X type with up to 8GB while the pro version is chucked with the new LPDDR5 effort maxed at 12GB. 

The cameras are also different in the two devices. The 17 has a main 64MP Sony IMX 686 sensor, a 12MP depth shooter, an 8MP telephoto camera and a 5MP macro sensor are included along with the main sensor. The Pro version gets a step up. Cradling inside the Pro version are four camera sensors as well, the same primary sensor with OIS is harnessed within the device. The 32MP Sony IMX 616 serves as the ultrawide optical solution here with a 129° field of view. An 8MP telephoto camera with up to 8x zoom. The device debuts the 3MP Samsung S5K33D 3D depth sensor for its depth shooter. 

Other features such as an indisplay fingerprint scanner, 5G SA/NSA, WiFi 6, and NFC are included. The devices are powered by a 4,500mAh cell with up to 30W mCharge fast charging which the firm has curated. The Pro version gains wireless charging rated at 27W as an additional nifty topup solution. 

Prices of the 17 and 17 Pro are introduced below. Do note that these are not official Philippine prices and are directly converted from Chinese Yuan/Renminbi
