Three Redmi Devices Identified, Two Dimensity Equipped And A Snapdragon Device.

A famous tipster on Weibo has shared some details about upcoming 5G Redmi devices.

He quoted three system on a chips, all of them have native 5G modems integrated. He mentioned that three devices will be equipped with MediaTek Dimensity 800, 1000 and Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G. It is not clear if he meant that it would be a variant for the Dimensity series, such as the 1000L for the 1000. 5G support for the devices is likely. Although not much has been disclosed by the tipster. Other specifications, camera setups, battery and the like remained hidden. 

MediaTek’s Dimensity chipsets is a big leap from their Helio series. The Dimensity 1000 was believed to be more powerful than the Snapdragon 855 and even the 855 Plus with its 511,000 AnTuTu benchmark score. So it will be promising to see MediaTek’s offerings on Redmi devices. This may hint that the following devices may undercut the competition in terms of pricing, knowing Redmi. 

One of the Dimensity 1000 variants, the Dimensity 1000L, has already debut on the OPPO Reno3 Chinese version. It showed potential as it ties with the Snapdragon 855 in terms of benchmarks. It even outscored its Pro variant, equipped with a Snapdragon 765G. So having Dimensity devices from Redmi show potential to the midrange market.

As of right now, no launch date nor any availability has been announced.
