Recently, a Geekbench result from the alleged Samsung Galaxy Note 20 surfaced, shared with different tipsters and has talked about ever since.

However, IceUniverse and Max Weinbach which have good track record in revealing Samsung devices discovered something new on the benchmark. They have dug out that the top cluster runs at “3.09GHz”. This is odd since Qualcomm’s top of the line Snapdragon 865 only clocks in at 2.84GHz. They speculated that it will be the Snapdragon 865 Plus!

Max Weinbach specifically, denoted that the Plus refresh in terms of CPU, has a higher clock speed only at the Prime core. This is from 2.84GHz to 3.09GHz, which is an 8% increase. This is not much of an increase from the former. Although, not much has stated about which other areas have been improved.
Also, a tipster from Weibo, has shared the timeline in which the device will launch. He stated that it will be at the third quarter of the current year. That is on time in which Samsung refreshes the Note line every year so he might be correct.

Qualcomm is no stranger in releasing improved version of their flagship chip. In 2016, the Snapdragon 820 has the Snapdragon 821. And just last year, the Snapdragon 855 has an updated Snapdragon 855 Plus which were released later in the year.

Qualcomm has yet to announce this system on a chip on their line. Be sure to stay tune to their announcement to find out more details about its improvements over the vanilla version.

Other manufacturers such as Xiaomi, Vivo, OPPO, Realme, Redmi and all others which have been traditionally to have Qualcomm flagship system on a chip on their devices are expected to have a device with this chip. This might exclude Google and LG since earlier reports that they would opt to the midrange Snapdragon 765 in their devices.
