Dimensity 800 benchmark rumor surfaces, matches Snapdragon 765, Kirin 810

Known tipster from Weibo, Digital Chat Station, has issued a Weibo that indicates the alleged benchmark of the Dimensity 800. Although he did not indicate which benchmark he may mean, it is certain that he was referring to AnTuTu benchmark v8 based on the translation.

He claimed that the Dimensity 800 “has scored 330,000” on the said benchmark. The CPU is “at 100,000” and “90,000 for the GPU”. Based on the scores, the Dimensity 800 from MediaTek packs a punch and is positioned at the higher end of the market.

He also implied that the chip will “debut” in a device for 1500 CNY. In direct conversion it is PHP 10.8K. For such a capable chip at a very low asking price, the Dimensity 800 may be a game changer to the market if it arrives true. Not to mention, the chip also has 5G capabilities with its integrated 5G modem.

The system on a chip is rumored to be running the Redmi Note 9 Chinese variant which is different to its 4G global version with Snapdragon 720Gs. Also, it is reported that OPPO may use the chipset with its Reno series positioned higher at their product portfolio. It will be exciting and interesting how would the Dimensity 800 fare against the competing chips from its rivals.
