Interestingly, Asus’s entry level smartphone offerings have incorporated a laser autofocus module on their devices – despite the fact that their main line Zenfone 2 does not. Still that’s a nice feature when we’re talking about phones that are under PHP 10k – ’cause you rarely get anything else above the bare minimum specs most of the time. Anyway, today we’re talking about the Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0″, or the ZE500KL to be exact. This is the smallest current variant of the Laser series and is priced at PHP 7,295, separating it from it’s bigger brother (ZE550KL) and larger battery cousin (Zenfone Max) which cost PHP 7,995 and PHP 8,495 respectively. So is getting this version the best way to spend your money or would it be better to invest in the higher-spec’d variants? Well, you can watch our video review here to find out!
The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0″ is available now for the aforementioned PHP 7,295. If you absolutely must have a smaller phone in this form factor and don’t mind that the bigger phones are just several hundred pesos above it, then go ahead and check them out in stores!
The Asus Zenfone 2 Laser 5.0" is a well made phone in the same way all Zenfones are good - build quality, UI, and overall features. You won't find a lot to complain about, but it also doesn't stand out amidst a lot of other budget smartphones.
