The MRT train has had an apparent derailment accident earlier at Taft Avenue Station this afternoon. Several pictures and individual accounts have shown up on a Facebook page where consumers can complain about MRT issues earlier today. Currently, it seems there are some injured people in the derailing (20 – rushed to a Pasay hospital) and are being attended to. The operations of MRT and possible passengers intending to ride today is still unclear though.

MRT sure is getting a particularly bad reception as of late due to its massively congested trains and long lines. Of course, incidents like these definitely do not help. All we can do is hope that the injured passengers are ok. Its a bit of consolation at least that the Taft station is at ground level and not elevated over Edsa as most stations are.

Look out for more information as the situatuon develops.
