MyPhone looks to have a great smartphone in their hands with their new Rio – a device dubbed as their “newest affordable quad-core handset.” At a soft launch held yesterday at Robinson’s Galleria, the local brand started selling the new device for only PHP 4,999. That’s quite a bargain for the phone’s 5.0” HD display and the MediaTek 6582M processor – the latter packing Quad-Core performance and the current gaming favorite’s MALI 400 GPU. The rest of the features are no slouch either – with 1GB RAM for multitasking, USB OTG, and an 8MP AF camera. Check out the full spec sheet below.
MyPhone (Agua) Rio – PHP 4,999
At this price and for these specs the Rio might be one of the best buys this summer – if the price doesn’t go up that is. Rumors are circling that PHP 4,999 was an introductory price and may change to a higher one as early as this coming Monday, April 7, 2014. We haven’t confirmed this though, and unfortunately MyPhone’s last Fan page post still lists the price with blanks at PHP _,_99. So that could mean anything.
As of right now, we’ll stick to the PHP 4,999 price. It sounds about right to us – especially since MyPhone is known to be competitive when it comes to pricing. We’ll keep you updated in case that changes.
