We finally know which tablet we’ll take with us to the (no doubt) impending apocalypse. How, you ask? Well we’ve finally found a tablet that can last an ungodly amount of hours playing a video – that’s how. Why? Because in the apocalypse you’ll need enough juice to play those marathon sessions of Flappy Bird, of course. But let us explain it for the uninitiated: we’ve been doing battery tests here on our site to see which phone / tablet has the best. We seem to have found one and it is heads and shoulders above the competition. Shall we see who won? Check out our video below to find out!

Nexus 7 2012 – PHP 8k+

  • 1.2Ghz Quad-Core Tegra 3 Processor
  • 7.0" 1280×800 IPS Display (216ppi)
  • Android 4.4.2 Kitkat
  • 4,325mAh Battery
  • Battery Rundown: 8 Hours 6 Minutes (+40%)

Nexus 7 2013 – PHP 11k+

  • 1.5Ghz Quad-Core Snapdragon S4 Pro Processor
  • 7.0" 1920×1200 IPS Display (323ppi)
  • Android 4.4.2 Kitkat
  • 3,950mAh Battery
  • Battery Rundown: 5 Hours 48 Minutes

Well, wow. 8 hours playback is insane. Blows through the competition like they were standing still. Maybe it’s the Tegra 3 processor – its designed to run on only one low power core under low stress. Or maybe its just a bunch of other different factors altogether. But either way, we have a winner – and its going to be tough to beat it. Good job on both tablets, they did really good.
