Most folks say you can’t really do much with PHP 20 – except get you that budget ice cream drumstick that’s all over the local TV ads. But don’t tell that to Google, cause they just launched a new Sale on the Android Market putting up a bunch of games (and some pretty good apps) for only US $0.49 – a centavo shy of 21 Philippine zennies. Essentially giving you enough gaming (and apping) for much less than your typical visit to the local pirated DVD-DVD guy. Even though you’ll still need to go to him for your pirated Korean Telenovelas later. There’s also a whole new renaming thing going on, replacing “Android Market” with the name “Google Play”. We don’t know what that’s all about, but we really couldn’t care less. Hop on over the jump for a list of apps you can get for a Manuel Quezon each – and pay attention too since they got Need for Speed, Dead Space, N.O.V.A. 2 and a bunch of other really cool apps.
The Android Market Google Play list of apps on sale are: (With recommendations from us)
You can pretty much tell which ones we bought in that list, and the ones we’ve bolded out are the ones we recommend. Either way, for a hundred bucks or so, you should be running around with a pretty hefty stash of games (and a predictive keyboard). You can browse the list by going to the Google Play link here, or starting up the Android Market on your phone and clicking on the “Play Apps 50% Off” banner on the top of the screen. Of course, this will be limited to consumers with credit cards or capable of paying online, so if you don’t you’ll have to find some way around it – or buy yourself a Cornetto. Have fun!
P.S.: We can’t help but speculate that this is Google’s attempt at slightly getting publicity to combat the Apple iPad 3/HD announcement which will be happening in just a few more hours. Who knows, you could be too busy playing games instead, right?
