The Portable JBL On Tour Micro
Speakers and headsets are all the rage these days, as everybody seems to have at least two devices capable of playing digital music. (Don’t lie, your toaster can probably play a mean Lady Gaga tune.) One company that’s had their hat into the ring has always been JBL, and they want you to “Hear The Truth” with their new line of speakers – namely the portable On Tour Micro powered speaker; the African drum-inspired Jembe 2-channel speaker; and the Apple AirPlay-certified pair of On Beat Air and On Beat Extreme docks. The latter two having been designed to work in conjunction with your iOS devices, including the iPad.
The JBL On Tour Micro (pictures above) is their new portable offering – a small enough device that can easily fit into anybody’s pocket. It is powered by a rechargable Li-Ion battery (charged via USB) capable of giving you up to 4 hours of audio entertainment. Compared with other portable speaker brands, the On Tour Micro can be daisy-chained for stereo playback and also comes with a nice carrying pouch. These speakers come in three colors and is available now for PHP 1,995.
The JBL Jembe
The JBL Jembes are the company’s new powered 2.0 speaker designed for desktops, laptops or anything with a 3.5mm jack (mobile phones, mp3 players). They’ve been redesigned and improved from their preview product, the JBL Duet, to provide great audio in a small, mug-like package. They also feature a front headphone jack for silent listening, and an AUX In jack to switch quickly into different audio sources without needing to fiddle with the cables in the back.
The JBL On Beat Air
The JBL On Beat devices are the new versions of their popular line of iOS docks. Supported devices include not just iPods and iPhones, but you can also mount an iPad there to enjoy your favorite games, music, and movies with great sound – you can even rotate them into landscape positions. The On Beat Air features an RF remote, video output, and Apple’s AirPlay feature – a feature that lets you stream music straight from any of your iOS/iTunes devices wirelessly over your home network. While the On Beat Extreme has all of the above, but also comes with a Bluetooth reciever – so you can pair it with any phone or device with Bluetooth functionalities.
So if you’re looking for a portable audio solution to take along with you, or you need something nice in your house to fill a room with audio, feel free to check out the JBL range at your nearest local audiophile shops!
