We’ve been sitting on this information for quite some time now and frankly, we’ve been itching to let you guys know. A local new brand called Timbre (pronounced as Tamber), will be launching the very first headset to be a proud Filipino creation. These over ear cans are called the “Gitara” (translates to Guitar) headphones and have been designed in our very own famous Team Manila Studios. And the best part about them is the price – PHP 2,499 for some decidedly cool looking over ears that might be mistaken for some popular foreign brands. Don’t run out of your houses to get one just yet though – these won’t be out in the market until December. For now, check out some more product shots and add them up on Facebook to keep yourself updated. We’ll hopefully be able to check them out ourselves soon, and will definitely let you guys know what we think.
The over ear headphones will come in white or black, and will sport a uniquely local guitar design and decals that incorporate parts of the Philippine Flag. We’re particularly fond of the black ones, but definitely would rock the white ones when it gets dark. Tech specs for the Gitara headphones include a 40mm driver, 20-20,000MHZ frequency range, 110dB sensitivity, and a maximum output of 100mW. Of course, specs are not the biggest factor in terms of quality, so we’ll all have to hear it to believe. We’re already pretty much sold on the design and price – all that’s really left for us to do is get our ears on them.
The Timbre Gitara cans will be available in December for the aforementioned price of PHP 2,499. Stores that will carry it include Team Manila shops, The Sole Project, Wooden Canvas, Analog Soul, The A Shop, Wardrobe.ph, and Vinyl on Vinyl. You can also check them out firsthand on the Zonta Alabang Christmas Carnivale Bazaar, which will be held on December 17-18 at the Cuenca Court, Ayala Alabang Village. With only two more weeks until December, you hopefully won’t have to wait that long.
