Anna Faris stars in What’s Your Number
Fans of Anna Faris’ bubbly nature should put in the time to check out her new movie entitled “What’s Your Number”. The movie puts the “House Bunny” star into a relatively more serious romantic comedy lead role as Ally Darling, a struggling young professional with a healthy sex life but not so healthy choice of partners. Not able to maintain or even begin a serious relationship with her lovers, she discovers that her purported number (of partners) has become unusually high. Following the advice of a magazine article, she must find her true love without increasing her number – by revisiting all her old previous relationships and finding the right one. Is she ever going to find Mr. Right from her list of Mr. Wrongs? You’ll have to see it to find out!
“What’s Your Number” sounds like what you’d expect a romantic comedy, except without the cliché’d use of Katherine Heigl, Kate Hudson, or Matthew McConaughey. What you get is the comedic talents of Anna Faris. And for about an hour and 45 minutes, you’ll spend the time revisiting Ally’s (Faris) past relationships and following her conversations around her friends and family. Colin (Evans) is introduced as the neighbor who decides that her apartment is a great place to escape from his previous nights’ female conquests. Ally lets him, with the condition that he helps her track down her past lovers. And while the rating for this movie is not a strong “R”, you may (or may not?) be happy to know that both Faris and Evans show a hefty amount of skin throughout – with one particular basketball scene to look out for. Overall, the movie delivers a couple of laughs and the leads put in some great work. The raunchy nature is a great take on the romantic comedy genre, but it might not be for everybody either.
“What’s Your Number” opens in cinemas today, October 5. Check your local theatre listings if you’re interested in checking it out. We’ll embed the trailer and shots below so you can peep some of the action, too!
