A very laid-back and close-knit community greeted us when we attended the Philippine Android Community Monthly Meetup held recently at Eton Centris Walk, Quezon Ave. As we do love us some Android, we were very much excited to meet with others who share the same passion for the Google-powered smartphone OS. In attendance were a few Android developers, Technology dignitaries, and even an exec or two.

While most of the topics discussed in the meet-up may be too technical to cover, we did see a lot talk about upgrading or buying new Android phones – like the still-popular Google Nexus One, Near-Field-Communications technology, the local Android Marketplace, and a huge spattering of Angry Birds chatter – very much an Android centric affair. We also did meet with a Cherry Mobile executive and he showed us a prototype Android device which will be launched tentatively this April. Look forward for more news about that!

We really wish to thank the local Android community for giving us a warm welcome and letting us join in on the conversation. We’ll be looking forward to to attending more of these events in the future – and if you’re so inclined, so should you!

If you wish to join the community, you can find them at these links down below. Maybe we’ll even see you in the next meet-up!
