You’re probably wondering what’s in Romania – besides pretty Romanian ladies. Well apparently, in Romania, there’s a great amount of love for Samsung’s line of Galaxy phones. How could we say that? Well, Samsung Mobile Romania recently posted in their Facebook page that three of the popular Android phones from last year will be getting significant updates – including the Galaxy S getting double whammy Froyo and Gingerbread updates staggered in just under two weeks.

The Samsung Galaxy S has enjoyed an amazing reign over a lot of the Android populace because of its cutting edge 4” 800×480 Super AMOLED screen, 1ghz processor, and in the case of the United States, about four trillion versions of the TouchWiz based mostly-Éclair powered Android phone. One of the significant gripes about Samsung’s entire Android lineup is the development delay on getting new Android versions on the mobile phones. Well, apparently Samsung Romania is set to fix that little problem. They announced that the Galaxy S will be getting Gingerbread, while Galaxy 5 and 3 will both be getting Froyo updates. And surprisingly, all of them will happen before the end of this month.

Great news for all involved, right? Well, maybe. Only Romania has confirmed these updates. It’s a little hard to imagine that these updates won’t trickle down to other countries at this point, but it could take longer than this month. Hey, at least they’re not giving up on those Galaxies just yet! Here’s hoping they’ll update the Galaxy phones here in the Philippines too!
