Early in December, we were invited to a Christmas celebration and launch event for Lenovo Personal Computers. They introduced the svelte ultraportable IdeaPad U260 laptop and the ThinkCentre M70z and M80 business-minded desktop solutions. Crammed to the brim with advanced features like water-resist keyboards, multi-gesture touchpads, and full touchscreens, you can tell these aren’t just your ordinary computing solutions.

The IdeaPad U260 is admittedly quite a sight to behold. You’ll notice the single slab of cut magnesium-aluminum body immediately creating its refined look. It’s just over a half-inch thin and lightweight at less than three pounds, which brings it in line with the top ultraportables out there. It has the unique 12” screen which is 16:9 ratio for proper widescreen use, the palmrest is comfortably leather-patterned, and to top it all the touchpad surface is made of glass.

It runs on Intel’s Core i3 with 4GB RAM and 320GB HDD for speedy performance. A touchpad supporting multi-touch gestures, breathable and water-resist keyboard, hard drive airbag safety features for sudden drops, Dolby Advanced Surround speakers, and an HDMI output round out the feature list.

The Lenovo IdeaPad U260 laptop will be available by January 2011 onwards through Lenovo Exclusive Stores and authorized retail stores nationwide at a suggested retail price that starts at PhP44,900.

The ThinkCentre M70z is an all-in-one desktop package. Lenovo incorporates all the needed electronics behind this desktop’s monitor screen and can be opened without the need for tools. It runs on either a Core i3 or i5 and has a built-in 2.0MP webcam and array microphones perfect for video conferencing. Finally, the optional touchscreen expands its capabilities to more than just your regular office computing work.

The ThinkCentre M80 comes as a tower or a small form factor desktop pictured above. It runs on Intel Core i3 or i5, and has the capacity to run with up to 16GB of memory. A DVD player or burner is included and the various USB ports have functionality to disable them for security purposes.

The desktops will be available by end 2010 through Lenovo business partners. Pricing for models of the ThinkCentre M70z and M80 starts at approximately PhP 52,100.00 and PhP 39,985.00 respectively.

Whether you’re looking for that stylish-yet-powerful personal computer on-the-go, or need to upgrade your business with new desktops, Lenovo looks like it has something in store for you.
