Fairphone is known with their eco-friendly smartphones. Providing components that are user replaceable beyond the industry standards. Now, their newest device, the Fairphone 5 might be another leap forward with that philosophy.
Tha Fairphone 5 is expected to retail for 699 Euros, the device will be having a new climate protection label and claims to use of up to 70% recyclable materials. Eleven modules are now user replaceable in case of repair.
The manufacturer also partnered with Qualcomm, the device dons a Qualcomm QCM6490. This is a 2.7GHz mobile platform that is on par with the Snapdragon 778G. The specialized SoC is expected to support of up to eight major Android software updates, beating out even Apple with their software support for their devices.
More of the specifications, the Fairphone 5 has a 6.46-inch OLED 90Hz panel with a 2770×1224 resolution. They offer a single memory configuration, 8GB RAM and 256GB storage to pair the QCM6490. For the cameras, it is equipped with a duo of 50MP shooters at the rear. Its battery is rated at 4200mAh and runs on Android 13. Two colorways, Sky Blue and Gray, will be up for grabs.
