The Redmi Note 12R has launched in China last month. The device brought the latest Snapdragon 4 series to mainstream, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2. According to a reliable tipster, the device is expected to debut as the Redmi 12 5G in global markets and the POCO M6 Pro 5G in India.
Twitter user kacskrz has spotted the alleged device on Mi Code. According to his screenshots, the spotted model number of the Redmi Note 12R within the code shares similarities with devices named Redmi 12 5G and the POCO M6 Pro 5G.
As a refresher, the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 found within the 12R is a Samsung fabbed 4nm octacore chipset. Launched recently this year, it is equipped with two ARM Cortex A78 and six A55 with the clusters running at max of 2.2GHz and 2.0GHz respectively. Paired with the CPU is an Adreno 619 GPU running at 955MHz. 5G capabilities is surprisingly supported with up to 2.5Gb/s download.
The SoC aside, the 12R boasts an IP53 water and dust resistance rating, 6.79-inch Full HD IPS 90Hz display, 50MP dual cameras, 5MP for selfies and a 5000mAh battery. It runs on Android 13 with MIUI 14 skin on top.
