Redmi’s 2024 K series “flagship killer” line, now in the works

With the Redmi K60 series not done yet as the rumored K60 Ultra will be introduced later this year. Redmi has been rumored to be gearing up the upcoming K70 series with this obscure speculation from a Weibo post.

Digital Chat Station posted that there will be a series that will sport SM8475, SM8550, and SM8650. To those who are unfamiliar, these are Qualcomm Snapdragon mobile platform part numbers. SM8475 pertains to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. SM8550 is Qualcomm’s current cream of the crop, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2. While SM8650 is the alleged part number of the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Comments under the Weibo post hint that the series hinted on the post is the Redmi K70 lineup. If correct, this will be a solid upgrade over the K60 series and will be the bizarre that one series will use three generations of Qualcomm flagship processors.

None of the specifications were introduced with the post, just the mobile processor information. But it is expected that the series will sustain or improve specifications over their predecessors, then 2K OLED panels, improved camera sensors, large batteries and wireless charging are some of the expected specifications of the following devices.
