The POCO X series has been introduced to slot into the midrange category. The series of devices has been different throughout its life. The POCO X3 and its Pro version being high price to performance ratio at the time while the POCO X4 Pro aiming at a more balanced experience. The rumored POCO X5 Pro, however, seems to have POCO back at its roots.

The POCO X4 Pro

Xiaomiui confirms some of the specifications of the upcoming POCO X5 Pro. The POCO X5 Pro will be having the Snapdragon 782G processor. That will be almost on par with the Snapdragon 860 in terms of overall performance from the POCO X3 Pro but with a more efficient process as it has better ARM Cortex cores configuration with the ARM Cortex A78 over the A76.

If correct, the Snapdragon 782G will be a good upgrade over the Snapdragon 695 present on the POCO X4 Pro and a more efficient equivalent to the Snapdragon 860.

Though with the performance uplift, it will be supplemented with an IPS panel that refreshes at 120Hz. This is an equivalent to the POCO X3 and X3 Pro and an apparent downgrade from the X4 Pro.

The release of the handset is expected to be later this December or early 2023, according to Xiaomiui, from its model number spotted on the IMEI database.
