The Dimensity 8000 series from MediaTek has lifted the midrange segment into a higher standard. Offering flagship-esque performance at asking prices usually occupied with fractions of its performance. A sequel to the 8000 series is now readied by the Taiwanese chipmaker.
Digital Chat Station has revealed some interesting information regarding the upcoming SoC on his Weibo. The alleged chip will be powering the Redmi K50S and the iQOO Neo7 SE. Aside from that, the a key specification of the chip is revealed as well.
The SoC will feature the same ARM Cortex A78 and A55 design. This has been used on its predecessors, the Dimensity 8000 series clocking in at 2.85GHz max. Now the difference is, the CPU will be running at 3.1GHz at peak and now built on TSMC’s 4nm node instead of the 5nm built before. The tipster estimates that the chip will be able to score 900,000 up to 1,000,000 points in AnTuTu benchmark.
The Dimensity 8200 is set to be announced this December 1. The vivo iQOO Neo7 SE will be the first device to harbor the SoC. Other notable devices include the rumored Redmi K60E and its possible POCO rehash.
