Alongside the Honor X40 GT, they also launched another budget 5G contender under the Honor Play nomenclature. The Honor Play 6C has decent specifications while having trendy features and even 5G despite its low asking price in China.

Under the hood is where a Snapdragon 480 Plus 5G is running the device. Despite its name, the Snapdragon 480+ gets impressive numbers at benchmarks which reflect raw performance. It is equivalent to a Snapdragon 730 on AnTuTu benchmark. The 480+ is paired with up to 8GB RAM and 128GB of storage.

The user will be greeted by a 6.5″ HD 90Hz TFT panel. The technology and its appearance may appear lackluster as it also has a spillway notch cutout housing the 5MP selfie camera. The rear camera system is something left to be desired as specs goes, a dual camera system lead by a 13MP snapper and a 2MP depth camera.

The 5000mAh battery is expected to last very long with the efficient Snapdragon 480+. When run out, the handset is capable of 22.5W fast charging at peak. Other features include a sidemounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm headphone port and  it runs on MagicUI 5.0 on top of Android 11. Prices in China are listed below. Color selections include Titanium Silver, Magic Night and Aurora Blue. Official availability overseas is currently under wraps.

  • 6/128GB – 1099CNY (PHP 9K)
  • 8/128GB – 1299CNY (PHP 10.7K)
