With the recent launch of the K50 series, Redmi has continued to bring great hardware at a lower asking price. The lineup boasts a 2K OLED panel with high refresh rate support, powerful chipsets from Qualcomm and MediaTek and even insane speeds in charging. Now, a new rumor suggests that Redmi is working on a refresh on one of their devices with the upcoming Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, the Redmi K50S series.

General Manager Lu Weibing has shared a Weibo regarding the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, just after the iQOO 10 series launch. He stated that the K50 lineup will be having the said chip and will be introduced later ths year.

Aside from that post, specifications include a 200MP camera and a 120Hz OLED display. The Redmi device to be replaced by this is a mystery itself as well. Though, it can be a minor upgrade among of Redmi’s two highest offerings in the K50 lineup, the K50 Pro and the K50 Gaming Edition.

The Redmi K50 Pro has a MediaTek Dimensity 9000, 2K OLED 120Hz display, 108MP camera with OIS 120W fast charging and a 5000mAh battery. Meanwhile the K50 Gaming edition has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, 120Hz OLED display, dedicated shoulder buttons, a 4700mAh battery and a gaming aesthetic to pack the system.

The devices to launch are currently speculated to be introduced in Global markets as te Xiaomi 12T lineup.
