Xiaomi’s China exclusive Civi series is focused on lightweight, prim and pretty aesthetics. While the Civi S or the Xiaomi 12 Lite has been unveiled as a minor refresh of the original Civi, the reported Civi 2 maintains the Civi philosophy and have beefier internals to couple with it.
According to both Digital Chat Station and Ice Universe on their Weibo accounts, the Civi 2 will be powered by the new Snapdragon 7 series chip which may go official as the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1. Ice Universe notably tipped that the Civi 2 won’t be available for grabs for the Chinese market until September.
None of the other specifucations have been revealed by the two yet. But judging the previous iterations of Civi, the Civi 2 might have a curved OLED panel of atleast Full HD resolution, a main camera with OIS, and possibly a larger battery with fast charging speeds.
The design of the Civi 2 might have the same core focus as its predecessors. We may also see key improvements on the selfie camera as well. Since its launch is still so far off even from the Chinese launch, we aren’t sure if this will land in global markets.
As for the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1, so far it shapes up to be a disappointment. This screenshot of the Reno 8 Pro launched in China earlier shows little to no improvement to the Snapdragon 778G.
