The Galaxy Fold 3 brought improvements over its predecessor by having a built-in S Pen and improved water resistance at a lower launch price. According to a report, it seems that Samsung is much more confident in it’s next iteration, the Fold 4 and the Flip 4.
This report came from a tweet posted by DSCCRoss, CEO of Display Supply Chain Consultants. According to him, Samsung is ramping up the production of the fourth iteration by having twice as much than the Fold 3 for this July. He also noted that the upcoming devices will see price cuts from the third iteration’s launch price.
With the price cut in place, Samsung is gearing up their flagship foldable lineup to the mainstream market. The phonemaker expects an increased pace of adoption of foldables which may explain the higher production and a more affordable launch price. This is on top of a 400% increase in foldable shipments for 2021 than that of 2020.
Right now the Galaxy Flip 3 can be bought for PHP 56,990 and the Fold 3 for PHP 86,990. The launch date for the Fold and Flip 4 series is currently unknown but it is expected to arrive at the latter part of this year.
