The gaming-centric Blackshark series has refreshed their lineup with the unveiling of the Blackshark 5 roster. The lineup is composed of three devices, the standard 5, the 5RS and the 5 Pro.

The Pro version has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip which is then cooled by a 5,320mm² dual vapor chamber. It is fueled by a 4650mAh cell and charges at 120W. The handset also boasts it’s new Magnetic Shoulder 2.0 buttons dedicated for gaming. The panel is a 6.67″ Full HD Super AMOLED display that refreshes at 144Hz. It also features a 10bit color space which can display for up to 1 Billion colors.

The cameras are composed of a 108MP main shooter, a 13MP ultrawide camera and a 5MP depth shooter. Accompanying the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip is a duo of NVMe SSD and UFS 3.1 storage coupled with LPDDR5 RAM.

Stepping down the hierarchy are the two versions of the Blackshark 5 RS. The higher storage variant, at 12+256GB storage which will retail at 3799CNY (PHP 31K), will have a Snapdragon 888+ chip. The base version, at 8+256GB for 3299CNY (PHP 27K), will have a Snapdragon 888. Both devices have a better vapor chamber than the Blackshark 4 series. Both can be charged at 120W with their 4500mAh.

The RS have Magnetic Shoulder 2.0 buttons for gaming. The two devices retains a similar panel, a 6.67″ Full HD Super AMOLED display that refreshes at 144Hz. And both versions will have SSD storage, UFS 3.1 and paired with LPDDR5 RAM. The cameras are 64MP for the main ,8MP for the ultrawide and 5MP telemacro.

The bottom of the ranks is the standard Blackshark 5. The vanilla version still packs some grunt with it equipped with a powerful yet aging Snapdragon 870 chipset. The battery specifications are identical to the 5 Pro at 4650mAh with 120W charging support. Like the other 5 series, it has the same display, features like the Magnetic Shoulder buttons, speakers but lacks the SSD storage and retains the UFS 3.1 solution. The cameras of the Blackshark 5 are almost identical to the 5 RS but with a 13MP for the ultrawide instead of the 8MP.The devices run on JoyUI, 12.8 for the RS and 13 for the 5 and 5 Pro.
