Steve Hemmerstoffer from Onleaks has tweeted the device with some of its renders and specifications. The G 5G will have a 6.6″ Full HD display with a punchhole cutout for the selfie camera. Running the phone is an old yet capable Snapdragon 750G chipset. It boots on Android 11 and will have a 5000mAh battery.
In terms of its looks from the renders, the device has a sizeable chin below the display. The punchhole cutout is located at the top center portion of the panel. At the rear is a rather generic looking matte finish. The Motorola logo is located at the center of the rear and the cameras at the top left. The modules are arranged in a vertical manner with the flash sitting beside the top sensor at the right.
As of writing, the device’s launch is not known yet. In terms of the device compared to its predecessor, the handset doesn’t offer much in terms of performance since it has the same chip. The main camera is also swapped from a 48MP camera to a 50MP solution. Other details are not known yet, so the 2022 version might have something more to offer.
