MediaTek has been on a roll when it comes to pumping out decent chips under the Dimensity line. Late last year has been introduced by the Taiwanese firm as their newest chip on the line to combat Qualcomm’s solution. Now, new information has been spotted regarding the chipmaker’s more budget yet still premium chip, the Dimensity 8000.

Frequent tipster Digital Chat Station has posted on his Weibo one benchmark result of the upcoming Dimensity 8000. The chip scored 820,230 in AnTuTu v9. The score is equivalent to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888, last year’s flagship chip.

This is excellent since the Dimensity 8000 is a cheaper alternative to the Dimensity 9000 and 8100 to be on devices later this quarter.

As a refresher, the Dimensity 8000 has already been described by DCS as well before. The silicon harbors an ARM Cortex-A78 and A55 core setup split into to fours. It runs at 2.75GHz maximum and is coupled with a Mali G510 MC6 GPU. This is all built on TSMC’s 5nm node.
