Those who are in touch in the smartphone releases have already known that Qualcomm loves to release a midcycle refresh of their flagship chip in a form of a Plus version at the latter part of the year. This year is not any different as various sources hint a Plus refresh of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. realme, including other phonemakers, has a device with this alleged chip is now being rumored by a reliable tipster.
The information at hand is when Digital Chat Station had replied on one of his followers inquiring about the realme GT 2 Pro. The tipster responded that an “8475” version of the device will be released at the second half. “8475” pertains to “SM8475” which is the rumored part number of the upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus (Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 bears “SM8450”).
The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus is rumored to be a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 but built on TSMC’s N4 node instead of Samsung’s 4LPE node. According to various tipsters, this in turn improves the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1’s power consumption and performance since TSMC’s node is more transistor dense.
Processor aside, the realme GT 2 Pro is realme’s current flagship smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, a 6.7″ Quad HD OLED display with 120Hz, up to 12GB RAM, two 50MP rear shooters and a 5000mAh battery with support of up to 65W fast charging. The device is marketed by the firm as environment friendly as the rear finish of the phone is made out of recycled materials forming a paper-like feel.
It is safe to assume that the realme GT 2 Pro “refresh” with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus atleast has these features with a little bit of extra.
