Recently, Motorola unveiled two new flagship smartphones for the Chinese market. Both of the devices, the Edge S30 and X30, are supposedly flagship killers from the phonemaker packing in high end Qualcomm processors at an attractive price tag.

Starting with the X30, this is the first phone to launch with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset which was announced at the end of last month. Aside from the blazing fast processor, the X30 is accompanied by up to 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The display on the front is a 6.8-inch Full HD Super AMOLED panel that refreshes at 144Hz. The 60MP selfie shooter, depending on the variant of the device, is nestled at a top center punchhole cutout or beneath the display at the same position for the Special Edition.

The cameras of the X30 is composed of a 50 Megapixel shooter, a secondary 50MP sensor and another 2MP wrapping up the trio. A 5,000mAh battery is stashed within the device that can be charged at 68W fast charging. Motorola loaded the device with their own skin, MyUI on top of Android 12.

The Edge S30 is the much more affordable sibling between the two with some watered down specifications. Instead of the 8Gen 1, it has the outgoing Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset. The memory configuration remains the same and the display size is similar as well but with an LCD panel. The selfie camera is situated at the top center on a punchhole cutout as well.

The S30 also has a triple camera setup this time lead by a 108MP shooter then accompanied by an 8MP camera and a 2MP extra sensor. The battery capacity is identical at 5,000mAh but now with slower charging at 33W, It also has the MyUI skin on top of Android.
