Despite Samsung pumping out absurd smartphone camera sensors such as 108MP and 200MP, other manufacturers such as Xiaomi always utilize those sensors such as the first phone with a 108Mp camera, the Mi Note 10, released last late 2019. Though, things might change soon as a rumor regarding the South Korean phonemaker maybe brewing a midrange device with 108MP shooter.

The alleged device rumored in Korea is the upcoming Galaxy A73, which makes sense having the premium treatment as the A70 series is one of the top of the line midrange devices for the company.

This will be the first time that Samsung will be bringing a 108MP camera to one of its midrangers. Though the rumor did not specify which 108MP will it be touting as there are currently three 108MP shooters it can possibly pack, the HMX, HM1 and HM2.

As this is a midrange device, we wouldn’t be surprised it Samsung skimps out and decides to put in a Samsung HM2 sensor, the smallest among the three and has 0.7µm pixels. This is also the sensor used in the popular Redmi Note 10 Pro which is one of the cheapest devices, if not the cheapest, to have a 108MP camera.
