Fairphone offers smartphones that are modular which makes them easy to repair which sets them apart from the Xiaomis, Apples and Samsungs of the world. Now, the Dutch-based firm outs the Fairphone 4 which achieves a 9.2/10 score on the French Repairability Index. The device is quite serviceable as the user can purchase spare parts from the company if something manages to breakdown.
fairphone is securing two major Android smartphone updates for the fairphone 4 and software support until 2025. The handset also bears an IP54 water and dust resistance rating and MIL810G drop test certification. The phone has a 6.3-inch Full HD LCD display with Corning Gorilla Glass 5. A spillway notch is located above housing the 25MP selfie camera and a side mounted fingerprint scanner is also present.
The rear camera system is lead by a 48MP main camera with OIS and accompanioed by a 48MP ultrawide camera, with the third camera being a time of flight shooter. The handset comes with up to 8GB RAM and 256GB of storage which can be expanded via a microSD card slot. Powering the system is a 3905mAh battery that can support 20W fast charging.
Fairphone 4 starts at €579/£499 for the 6/128GB model while the 8/256GB one will go for €649/£569. Color options include grey, green and speckled green which is exclusive to the 8/256GB model. First shipments in Europe are scheduled for October 25.
