In terms of camera prowess, Redmi might not be the best contender out there with the brand’s focus of the best price to performance ratio across the markets whether it is within or outside China. Though, new information surface out, tipped by a popular tipster on Weibo, claims that Redmi might be taking a jab at a camera-centric device.
Digital Chat Station stated in one of his posts that Redmi is developing a smartphone with a 50MP shooter. He denoted that it won’t be the upcoming Redmi Note 10 Pro 5G, to be released in China, which is rumored to pack a 108MP sensor.
One of the last times Xiaomi group has released a device with a 50MP camera is with the Xiaomi Mi 11 Pro which is obviously up in the ranks in terms of camera prowess with that being one of the Mi 11 lineups, also exclusive for the Chinese market. Aside from the 50MP shooter, the device will have a high refresh rate AMOLED display and Snapdragon 870 chipset.
For now, this alleged Redmi device is unknown. Neither its specifications other than the 50MP, Snapdragon 870 and OLED display information disclosed nor its naming is known. It is safe to assume that the tipster may be referring to a Chinese launch and variant of the device as well, so it may differ from the global release if it ever does.
