The last MIX device by Xiaomi was the Mi MIX 3 way back in 2018 using the Snapdragon 845 mobile platform and a sliding form factor to hide the front facing shooters. Now, Xiaomi releases the same intent of hiding the front camera but now using an camera under panel technology which bids goodbye to the mechanical sliding mechanism.
Xiaomi now uses a panel with micro-diamond pixels and along with software optimization which ensures light refraction at a minimum. More on the display, the OLED panel is a 1080p resolution that refreshes at 120Hz and has a Pixel density of 400ppi. The glass on the display is Corning’s latest Gorilla Glass Victus.Colorways include a blue, black and white ceramic finishes. In the audio department, Xiaomi manages to partner again with Harman/Kardon to tune the handset’s speakers.
Performance-wise, the phonemaker snags in the Snapdragon 888 Plus chipset at the heart of the phone. It runs at a maximum of 3.0GHz with a tri-cluster CPU topography which is a combination of 1+3+4 setup. This is paired with up to 512GB of storage and 12GB of RAM.
Sandwiched within is a 4500mAh cell which powers the system, it is charged at up to 120W for wired charging and 50W for wireless solutions.
The cameras are also remarkable on paper as well. It packs in a 108MP Samsung Bright HMX f/1.95 with OIS 7P lens as its main shooter, this is accompanied by a 13MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera with 120-degree FOVand a 50X telephoto periscopic camera at 8MP with OIS.
The device starts at 4999CNY which is PHP 38.8K equivalent and up to 6299CNY or PHP 48K for the 12/512GB variant. Availability in other marketsis yet to be announced.
