High refresh rate displays are the standard nowadays when it comes to display quality. Lately, this is also true with budget devices with the likes of the POCO M3 Pro 5G, Infinix Hot 10S, realme 8 5G and many others capable of high refresh rate on their front facing panels.
Now, MediaTek has released the Helio G88 and G96 for budget smartphones having support for 90Hz and 120Hz respectively.
Aside from the high refresh rate support, the Helio G96 can support of up to 108MP sensors. The Helio G88, on the other hand, will be able to support of up to 64MP cameras. This is a potential step up for upcoming devices when it comes to camera prowess without drilling a hole on consumer’s pockets.
In terms of performance, the Helio G96 will be featuring a 2.05GHz ARM Cortex A76 setup and the Helio G88 with 2GHz ARM Cortex A75. This is similar to the Helio G95 and G85 already found on devices.
While the chips are new, the mobile platforms only have 4G LTE support on across of them. It is expected for these chips make an appearance to devices in months to come.
