Xiaomi is on the roll with them releasing the Mi 11 before 2020 ended. It is the first device with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 888 mobile platform. Now, their subbrand Redmi will continue their tradition in releasing flagship killers with the K40 with this current information.
Redmi CEO Lu Weibing shared that they are currently working on Redmi K40. He announced the price immediately with his announcement which is unheard of. This is to declare that they are willing to continue a flagship level of experience at their lowest possible pricing that they can achieve.
He mentioned that the K40 will be the best “straight screen”, which roughly translates to a flat screen. It might be an AMOLED display that will include high refresh rate capabilities which was missed on the K30 Pro and included on the Ultra variant.
They are also bringing the Snapdragon 888 mobile platform this time into the table that would be on par in terms of performance.
They announced that, assuminnly the base variant, it would start at 2999 Chinese Yuan, this is PHP 22,200 directly converted without taxes and duties yet.
Other specifications and features of the device is still under wraps as of now. But this might be one of the more compelling devices in the midrange category with excellent price to performance ratio, Redmi’s traditional formula for their K roster.
