After being sold by Huawei due to US sanctions, Honor has delivered a new device. Completely independent, the V40 looks promising with its on paper specifications. A flagship chip, a high refresh rate AMOLED display and a powerful main camera is packed inside.

Its main shooters on the rear are composed of three sensors. The main 50MP camera has an RYYB bayer for better low light images. The other two are tasked for ultrawide and depth shots.

At the front is where the dual selfie cameras are residing at a pill punchhole cutout surrounded by the 6.72-inch AMOLED display that refreshes at 120Hz.

At the heart is the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chip paired with 8GB RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage.

It has a 4200mAh power cell that charges at a maximum of 66W in wired charging and 50W wireless.

The user will be greeted by Honor’s MagicUI 4.0 on top of Android. With Honor deter ties with Huawei, it should boot up with Google Mobile Services once the device goes global.
