Xiaomi Foldable Codenamed “Cetus” Spotted On MIUI

Foldable devices have been in the spotlight in recent times. Huawei and Samsung have their shots with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 2 and Huawei Mate Xs as their best bet in the niche market. With the first year tripping and more experimental and the second more refined. More manufacturers are expected to appear in the scene, and the latest evidence, Xiaomi, is one of the major players willing to take a shot. 

Enclosed within the MIUI code, XDA Senior member kacskrz, has allegedly spotted evidence that the Chinese phonemaker maybe working at a foldable device. From XDA, the device’s codename is “Cetus”.

Other specifications, include a Qualcomm mobile platform and a 108MP main camera sensor. The device is likely to run on Google’s latest Android version, 11, with Xiaomi’s flavor of Android, MIUI.

It is uncertain of what kind of foldable device cetus is. No information about its hinge, display nor mechanism has been identified.

Though, it maybe a nobrainer to guess that the Qualcomm mobile platform.inside the foldable device will be Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 800 series. Aside from that, premium features and price tag are expected as well.
Xiaomi, notably, has shown a foldable device prototype before. So a leak like this isn’t too far fetched.
