Huawei is on drought due to U.S. constraints as others speculate that this, the Huawei Mate 40 series, might be their last flagship. The specifications of the roster are indicated below described at launch.

The HiSilicon Kirin 9000 will make an appearance on the Huawei Mate 40 Pro and Pro+. This was previously rumored to clock at 3.13GHz that harbors a ARM Cortex-A77 design. This is paired with a Mali G78 MC24 GPU, 24 shader cores which is the maximum ARM allows the manufacturer to configure. This makes the GPU more beefier for intense mobile titles. The mobile chip also supports 5G with Huawei’s Balong modem. Meanwhile, the Mate 40 allegedly has the slightly lower variant of the Kirin 9000, the Kirin 9000E which has fewer Mali G78 cores at 22 and a slightly weaker NPU configuration

Aside from the processing prowess, the device has a large 6.76 OLED inch display to greet the users. It comes with a rather oblique 1344p resolution with a 90Hz refresh rate. The pill punchhole cutout is located at the top left which houses a 13MP selfie camera and a 3D sensor.

The cameras on the rear is a triple camera system for the Pro and standard edition. The Pro composed of a 50MP Sony sensor for the main shooter, a 20MP ultrawide and a 12MP telephoto camera. It can achieve 5X optical zoom at maximum for the telephoto and also record 8K for the main camera. The vanilla version gets a 16MP ultrawide, the same main camera and a 8MP telephoto camera.

The Pro+, on the other hand, has five total cameras. An additional telephoto camera and a time of flight sensor on top of the main configuration on the Pro version
The devices run Android 10 with Huawei’s EMUI skin on top. Although Google services are not available.
Keeping it up and running is a 4,400mAh cell and charges at 65W for the Pro and Pro+
