Just a few days ago, Xiaomi has unveiled the Redmi Note 9 for global markets. Notably, the mobile processor, the Helio G85, is new to the public eyes. It is just now that MediaTek has shared some details about the mobile processor.
The MediaTek Helio G85 is a mobile processor under the Helio G line. This is designed for gamers on a budget. Budget devices, such as the Redmi Note 8 Pro, Realme 6 and C3, use mobile processors under this line. The G85 is positioned higher at the series, just under the G90 and G90T.
It offers similar performance to the Helio G80, which was found on the realme 6i, with an exception with its GPU performance. The GPU for the G85 is about 5% physically faster than that found on the G80 — 1GHz to 950MHz.
